What the implementation covers

Standard configuration wherever it fits, and SuiteScript or SuiteCloud development only where your process is genuinely different. Custom work should stay a short list, and we agree what belongs on it before anything is built.
Data migration that you can reconcile
NetSuite data migration services cover opening balances, master data and history, migrated so the numbers can be tied back to the old system. If they cannot be reconciled, the business will keep the old system running in parallel.
Testing and training before the date, not after
User acceptance testing runs against real scenarios and real people. NetSuite user training happens close enough to go live that it is still remembered.
The weeks after go live
Hypercare support in the weeks after go live is the part that gets cut when a plan slips, and it is the part that decides whether people trust the system. It is planned in rather than offered afterwards.
NetSuite implementation phases and typical durations
1. Discovery
Workshops map how the business actually runs. In the Molekule implementation this was a 40 hour requirements discovery covering manufacturing, procurement, warehousing and fulfilment.
2. Design
The account design is written down and agreed, including subsidiaries, chart of accounts, roles, approvals and every integration.
3. Build
Configuration first, then SuiteScript and workflow development only where your process is genuinely different from the standard.
4. Data migration
Master data, opening balances and history are loaded in trial runs, and each run is reconciled against the old system.
5. Testing and training
User acceptance testing runs on real scenarios with the people who will use the system, followed by training close to the go live date.
6. Go live and hypercare
Cut over, then planned support through the first closes, when most questions and fixes appear.
How long a NetSuite implementation takes
The honest answer comes after discovery, because the duration is driven by a handful of factors rather than by company size. The number of subsidiaries, the number and difficulty of integrations, the volume and condition of the data, how much of the process needs custom development and how quickly decisions are made all move the date.

What drives NetSuite implementation cost
An implementation has two separate costs. The NetSuite subscription is licensed from Oracle. The implementation services are the work of designing, building, migrating, testing and training, and that is the part this page covers.
Services cost follows the same drivers as the timeline: entities, integrations, data, custom development and the amount of training. Go-live and the first 90 days
The first month end close on NetSuite is the real test. The first quarter usually brings a second wave of questions as less frequent processes run for the first time, such as quarterly reporting, rebates or tax filings.
Hypercare is planned into the project for this period rather than offered afterwards, with the same people who built the account available to fix what appears.
What recent implementations achieved
Molekule moved from fragmented legacy systems to one NetSuite account covering manufacturing, inventory, fulfilment and finance. Inventory accuracy improved from 82 percent to 99.2 percent.
BH Cosmetics, a fast growing cosmetics brand, moved demand planning, multi channel inventory and consolidation across domestic and international entities onto NetSuite. The stockout rate fell by 67 percent and month end close fell from 8 days to 3.

- What does a NetSuite implementation do
- It moves the business onto a single cloud ERP, with configuration, SuiteCloud development, data migration and training built around your actual process rather than a generic template.
- How long does a NetSuite implementation take
- It depends on the number of entities, the integrations and how much of your process is genuinely unusual, rather than on your revenue. Any firm quoting a duration before discovery is guessing.
- What usually goes wrong
- Reporting takes longer than the decision it feeds, teams keep a second set of records outside the system, and growth or acquisition outruns the original setup. None of those are feature problems.
- Can you take over a stalled implementation
- Yes, and it is a common starting point. NetSuite rescue services, failed NetSuite implementation recovery and NetSuite project recovery all start the same way, by establishing what was actually built rather than what the plan said would be. Full NetSuite reimplementation is occasionally the right answer, but it is proposed far more often than it is warranted.
- What does a NetSuite go live consultant do
- A go live consultant plans and runs the cut over, checks that opening balances and open transactions arrived correctly, and supports users through the first closes. It can be part of a full implementation or a separate engagement.
- How much does a NetSuite implementation cost
- It depends on the number of entities, integrations, data volume and custom development, so a reliable figure follows discovery. The subscription from Oracle is a separate cost from the implementation services.
